Jamie Neumann Bio

Jamie Neumann was born and raised in New Orleans. She studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and T. Schreiber Studio in New York City and is an actor dancer, singer, writer and producer.
Currently, Neumann plays "Ashley" alongside James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal in HBO’s critically-acclaimed series, “The Deuce.” Created by George Pelecanos and David Simon (“The Wire”) the show chronicles the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York City from the early 1970s through the mid-1980s. Neumann portrays the role of Ashley, a sex worker in Times Square under the pimp, C.C. (Gary Carr). “The Deuce” airs on Sundays on HBO.
Next year, Neumann can be seen in the highly anticipated Hulu drama series, “The Looming Tower” alongside Jeff Daniels and Peter Sarsgaard. Based on Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer Prize-winning 9/11 exposé by the same name, the show will trace the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, taking a controversial look at how the rivalry between the CIA and FBI may have inadvertently set the stage for the tragedy of 9/11 and the war in Iraq. Neumann will portray the role of Toni-Ann Marino, an FBI agent on John O’Neill’s (Daniels) team. Oscar-nominated Dan Futterman (FOXCATCHER) and Oscar and Emmy winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney (GOING CLEAR) will produce.
Neumann has written and/or starred in a number of short films, including STRANGER (wrote, starred in and screening at the 2017 New Orleans Film Festival), TOURIST (Screening at the 2017 New Orleans Film Festival) UNEXPECTED COMPANY, THE MELANCHOLY MAN, 2B OR NOT 2B, SEEKING, THESE WILD THINGS (wrote, starred in and screening at the 2017 Bushwick Film Festival), ARROW OF LIGHT, SUNDAY WATER, and MISS D.

Neumann has also appeared in music videos for the Brooklyn based bands Horrible Present and Desert Stars.

Neumann’s theater credits include "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea", "Incendiary Agents", "Sister Cities" (NY Premiere),  "Fifth of July",  "Savage International” (NYC Fringe Festival), “Revolution on the Roof” (NYC Fringe Festival), “Pogo and Evie" (NYC Fringe Festival) “You Can’t Take it With You" and “A Taste of Honey,” 
Neumann grew up studying dance at Delta Festival Ballet and is currently a member of the HIGH & MIGHTY BRASS BAND, for which she dances, plays percussion and sings.
Neumann currently resides in New York.
